MTBC’s E-Prescribing Application 100% Approved by SureScripts®
(Somerset, NJ) – November 30, 2010. MTBC is pleased to announce that it has achieved
100% approval from Surescripts® for its e-prescribing application—both
for the web-based application offered through its website and for its app designed
specifically for use with Apple® mobile devices, MTBC iRx. Unlike other
vendors who offer e-prescribing capability through a third party provider, MTBC
has developed a native application that is delivered through a direct connection
with Surescripts®.
Both applications allow physicians to send prescriptions to pharmacies electronically.
MTBC iRx, which has already been approved by Apple® for sale in its App
Store, allows physicians to send new prescriptions and refill requests directly
from their Apple® iPhone™, iPad™ or iPod Touch™ devices. The web-based
application offers the same capability, along with increased functionality with
regard to formularies and histories.
The ability to e-prescribe is one of the key components of the government’s plan
to facilitate the adoption of electronic medical records and create a national electronic
healthcare information infrastructure. Under the 2010 eRx Incentive Program, healthcare
providers who effectively e-prescribe can earn a 2% incentive payment on their Medicare
collections. Click here for more information.
The recent approval from Surescripts® is the result of MTBC’s ongoing commitment
to providing innovative, affordable technology solutions to healthcare providers
and practices across the nation. Its e-prescribing application is just one of the
many new technologies developed by MTBC to meet the ever-changing needs of its growing
client base.
