Overview
The federal government, in order to facilitate the widespread adoption of EHR (electronic
health records) technology, reduce healthcare costs, and bring our healthcare system
into the 21st century, has promised incentive bonuses for eligible providers and
hospitals that demonstrate “Meaningful Use” of certified EHR technology. From Medicare,
those bonuses may be $44,000+, whereas from Medicaid those bonuses may be $63,750+.
In order to begin earning the maximum amount of incentive payments as soon as possible,
eligible providers will need to begin reporting their “meaningful use” of EHR technology
as soon as possible.
MTBC helps you get your Meaningful Use bonus
Once you are have registered to achieve Meaningful Use, the last step to receive your bonus is actually attesting (legally stating your Meaningful Use of EHR software).
The attestation period for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program began April 18, 2011, but varies for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program depending on your respective home state.
MTBC assigns a Meaningful Use Coach to clients that choose to get their Meaningful Use Bonus. This service is free and part of our services.
