It is very pleased to announce that mtbc has achieved 100% approval from Surescripts®—both for the web-based e-prescribing application offered through its website as well as for MTBC iRx, its e-prescribing app designed specifically for use with Apple® mobile devices. Unlike other vendors who offer e-prescribing capability through a third party provider, MTBC has developed a native application that is delivered through a direct connection with Surescripts®.
Both applications allow physicians to send prescriptions to pharmacies electronically. MTBC iRx, which has already been approved by Apple® for sale in its App Store, allows physicians to send new prescriptions and refill requests directly from their Apple® iPhone™, iPad™ or iPod Touch™ devices. The web-based application offers the same capability along with increased functionality with regard to formularies and histories.
The ability to e-prescribe is one of the key action items in the U.S. government’s plan to facilitate the adoption of electronic medical records and create a national electronic healthcare information infrastructure. Providers who effectively e-prescribe using MTBC’s application can earn a 2% incentive payment on their Medicare collections for 2010.
The recent approval from Surescripts® is the result of MTBC’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative, affordable technology solutions to healthcare providers and practices across the nation. The e-prescribing application is just one of the many new technologies developed by MTBC to meet the ever-changing needs of its growing client base. The company is continually striving to make its end-to-end billing, practice management and EHR solutions even more efficient and affordable for healthcare professionals.
